LITTLES FAQ’s

DO YOU PROVIDE LOANER EQUIPMENT?
Yes we offer Loaner Equipment at the Henderson Location only and Loaner Sticks at both locations. We are providing loaner equipment on a first come, first served reservation basis. Loaner Equipment is limited.
While we hope/expect to be able to outfit every player requesting Loaner Equipment, if your player is not provided equipment they will participate in the Non-Padded division.
You are more than welcome to purchase your own equipment, we recommend shopping for equipment here - Lacrosse Unlimited - Boys' Lacrosse Equipment.
Loaner Equipment/Sticks Reservation Form - RESERVE HERE.
If a player forgets a piece of equipment, we may be able to provide a piece of loaner equipment for that session.

CAN YOU PROVIDE GUIDANCE ON THE APPROPRIATE EQUIPMENT FOR A NEW LACROSSE PLAYER?
Families can shop for equipment here: Lacrosse Unlimited > Boys Equipment > Starter Sets

STX and Maverik are both trusted brands in the Lacrosse Sticks/Pads industry. Ultimately it probably depends what, if anything, your player already has. Ex. If they have a stick, then consider a package without a stick.

If you find the individual item webpage for a pair shoulder pads (example), arm pads, gloves, etc. in a set, it will provide a link to the Size Chart, which will be helpful in considering sizes. We encourage families to buy a size up so players get longer use out of items and don’t grow out of them after one season. Equipment can always be taped, for example, to hold up arm pads on skinny arms. As long as gloves aren’t entirely too big, they don’t tend to fall off as players play with closed hands around the lacrosse stick.

For your reference here is the USA Lacrosse Equipment Guide.

ARE GIRLS ALLOWED TO PLAY IN THE PADDED DIVISION?
Yes! As long as they have the required equipment they are encouraged to participate in the Padded Division.
Girls wanting to play a girls rules version of lacrosse should register for the Non-Padded Division.

ARE THERE AGE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PADDED DIVISION?
No, there are not age requirements for either division only that players be in Grades K-2. Families should register their player for the division they feel most comfortable participating in.

CAN MY PLAYER SWITCH FROM THE PADDED TO NON-PADDED (or vice versa) DIVISIONS?
Yes, we want all players to have a great experience, so players can try a division and then make a switch if necessary for future sessions.

WHAT SHOULD MY PLAYER WEAR TO LITTLES LACROSSE?
Players should wear athletic clothes, such as shorts, a t-shirt, and cleats or athletic shoes. If you register for the Padded Division, please bring your lacrosse equipment (gloves, arm pads, shoulder pads, helmet, etc.). Loaner Equipment/Sticks are available by reservation—CLICK HERE to reserve one.

WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS NO PRIOR LACROSSE EXPERIENCE?
No worries! LITTLES Lacrosse is designed as an introductory program. We would encourage brand new players to sign up for the Non-Padded Division. Both divisions focus on teaching fundamental skills in a fun, low-pressure environment.

WHAT IS THE WEATHER POLICY?
We play in most weather conditions. However, in case of severe weather (lightning, heavy rain, wind), sessions may be canceled for safety reasons. We will notify families via email or text if a session will be cancelled in as far advance as possible.

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS?
We love having volunteers! If you have an athletics background and are interested in helping coach, assisting with drills, or being an extra set of hands — please reach out to us at info@westwardlacrosse.com.
